Bio

Dhillon KhoslaDhillon Khosla was born in Brussels, Belgium to an East Indian father and German mother.  After spending his childhood in Europe, he and his family emigrated to the United States, and settled in Westport, Connecticut, where Khosla completed his high school education.  Thereafter, he traveled westward, earning an undergraduate degree of psychology in Boulder in Colorado and a law degree in San Francisco, California where he graduated valedictorian of his law school class in 1994.

Khosla began his legal career as a staff attorney for the California Supreme Court, and then continued on to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, where he served for over fifteen years as a judicial staff attorney for presidential-appointed judges, while lecturing on complex areas of criminal law.

Between 1997 and 1999, while at the federal courts, Khosla underwent a full medical transition from female to male, resulting in multiple cutting-edge surgeries which continued for several years and ultimately transformed his inner self as much as his outer one.

Khosla documented his journey in his personal memoir entitled, Both Sides Now, which was originally released by Penguin/Putnam in 2006 and praised by critics for both its compelling narrative and literary quality.

Between 2006 and 2008, Khosla traveled the country conducting high profile press interviews on ABC’s “The View,” FOX News, CNCBC, MSNBC, CNN, and many others.  He gave highly personalized lectures at major universities, public organizations, and mystical books stores, and received unanimous praise from audiences of all political and religious backgrounds for his open honesty, vulnerability, and willingness to share how his transition helped him to uncover and heal the shadows of his own intolerance:

Those of us who preach tolerance and love must first admit and confront our own intolerance so that we do not perpetuate the very thing we seek to eradicate.
